Leadership
Students’ Council: The Students’ Council organizes dances, spirit weeks, a formal and many other activities around the school. Each year they have a major fundraiser to purchase new sports and theatre equipment, donate to local charities, needy students, Christmas Sharing and participate in the Santa Claus parade.
The group meets on a regular basis to organize the many events. This proves to be a huge challenge, but the rewards bring accomplishments, satisfaction and lasting friendships. Come and be part of a dynamite team. Bring a friend and share the excitement of raising our school spirit and keeping our school a great place to be.
QUEST is Quinte Enrichment Studies, a special 2 year program for bright, motivated students in Grades 9 and 10. Members are nominated by their Grade 8 teachers or by themselves. The students can earn an extra credit by attending special classes, completing public service, attending and reporting on cultural experiences and completing an Independent Learning Project. Students do not register for QUEST in Grade 8; instead, they join in September. This activity is in addition to regular Grade 9 and 10 courses. The Secondary program is an extension of the Grade 7 and 8 Quest program that runs at both the Elementary and Secondary sites as part of the Quinte School group.
Other extracurricular activities and groups that provide a leadership role within the school are Fashion Show, Grad Committee, Little Hoops, Fitness Centre Supervisors and the Student Athletic Association.
