Library/Resource Centre
As our students prepare for a career working in an information rich society, it is important that they develop the skills required to locate, select and process the information they need. Quinte's Library program helps students learn to use a variety of both print and electronic sources in their research. The Teacher-Librarian instructs them in the use of the on-line catalogue as well as various databases and internet tools on the Library computer network. These databases provide full text magazine, newspaper and encyclopedia articles on a wide range of topics. Students will learn how to find, evaluate, and publish information in order to achieve academic success in all subjects.
At any time throughout the day, students may come to the Quinte Library for individual assistance or may search the Quinte web page from home to access the Library page and Moodle to obtain copies of handouts on literacy skills, citing sources, notemaking, etc. The Quinte Library also offers a wide selection of recreational reading material.
